A Poetry Compilation

Everyone has a story to tell. Everyone is on a journey to somewhere. This poetry compilation is comprised of my life’s journey: sometimes difficult, sometimes smooth, sometimes confusing. From the depths of my soul, through these poems, I share my intimate and emotional travels. The journey of life is full of joy, excitement, happiness, love, pain, sorrow, and recovery. To travel life’s journey is what makes a person strong. So, travel well, my friend.

When you lose yourself in an abusive relationship, you will someday have to face the stranger in the mirror.
The Stranger in the Mirror Died Today
I sit before the mirror and see,
A stranger looking back at me;
Who is that betrayer?
Who is that slayer . . .
of the former me?
I stand before the mirror and see,
The shadow of the woman I used to be;
No longer the owner of my soul,
No longer my spirit do I hold.
Please, Stranger, leave me alone,
Away to hell you must go;
For I am here to reclaim . . .
The little dignity that remains.
So, Stranger in the mirror, you shall die today.
